  • Would you like to have student interns?
  • Do you know how to get an intern?
  • How do you make the internship a valuable experience for you and the intern?

Student internships are valuable and productive opportunities for your company, regional economy, and tomorrow's workforce. But too often, employers don't know enough about the nurturing and developing of student interns to make the experience worthwhile.

We invite you to a workshop on how to make the most of internships within your company or organization. You’ll learn about internship programs at several area colleges and universities, as well as general information about:

Discussion Points and Take-Aways:
  • Designing and internship program
  • Selecting an intern
  • Internship and cooperative education programs - likenesses and differences
  • Credit vs. non-credit placements
  • Paying vs. non-paying internships
  • Supervising a student intern
  • Expectations from the student, college and employer

The registration deadline is May 18, 2010 and the
cost to attend is $10,
which includes a continental breakfast and workshop materials.

Please contact Toni McLawhorn at Roanoke College if you have any questions,
